Joaquin has 25 years’ experience leading companies and developing strategic projects in the infrastructure and oil and gas sector. For 20 years Joaquin worked for Pemex, the state oil company of Mexico. Joaquin has extensive experience in the development of strategic alliances, mergers and acquisitions, business plans, scenario planning processes, strategic alternatives of feedstock, assessment of investment projects for the oil and gas sector, positioning analysis of oil products, oil and gas market analysis and its impact on downstream operations. He recently coordinated the development of major bidding packages for the downstream sector.
In addition to his professional experience, Joaquin holds a PhD in Strategic Alliances for the Energy Sector from the Centre for Energy Petroleum Mineral Law & Policy (CEPMLP), University of Dundee, UK, whose research has mainly focussed on improving the performance of alliances within the energy value chain. He also holds an MBA in Oil & Gas Management from the same university, a Diploma in Business Administration from Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh, UK; a Master in Construction Management from ITC; an Executive Business Programme from IPADE Business School; a Certification in Strategic Alliances from the American Management Association and a Bachelor in Civil Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico.
Joaquin is a Honorary Lecturer from CEPMLP. He is a recognised expert in strategic alliances and has recently been appointed as Reviewer for the European Management Journal. Joaquin is a principal of business development and strategic alliances of US based Codysur Group and co-founder of a retail company for the food industry in Sweden.
